WEDDINg celebrant shenanigans

From our very first meeting with your wonderful self, we knew we were in safe hands. Your warmth, humour and compassion permeated the entire ceremony. Everybody felt included and countless people told us how perfectly you set the mood for the entire day. Thank you so much for creating such a joyful atmosphere on our wedding day.

Planning your big day? Needing to find a celebrant in Scotland?

Come say hi and we can make your wedding dreams come true…

What’s the booking process?

First up - book a free consultation - and [if I’m free on your date] we can arrange a wee hello to see if we’re a good fit and if so we move on into making your wedding dreams come true.

If you have a date / venue booked already - please put it in the info - many thanks. And if I’m not free on your date I can point you in the direction of some lovely other human/ists that may well be.

What is humanism?

In essence, it’s a secular philisophy - and lived investment - in kindness. Whatever your persuasion of origin - it’s hard to argue with kindness as a core tenet and value.

Can we really get married anywhere?

Yup! Well, I can legally marry you anywhere in Scotland. To date, I’ve led ceremonies on cliff tops, in family gardens, by lochs, in woods, by waterfalls, outside pubs, in parks, converted churches, on top of hills, in House for an Art Lover, Glasgow and a hill top near Strathpeffer. [I’m based in Glasgow and am happy to travel - while aware of the carbon footprint.] Where’s meaningful and fitting for you and yours? Let’s make it so.

where to BEGIN with the ceremony?

With you and yours - you are the heart of the story - your relationship, your stories, your values.

Let your wedding day - and specifically your ceremony - honour who and what you are - all that you are - have been and wish to be together.

Let me hear your story and no doubt the rightful ceremony will emerge - the stories that you treasure in your heart - your laughter and your tears. Let me hold your hearts a while and craft a memorable, meaningful wedding ceremony for you, your beloved and your congregation of loved ones.

Why i do what i do?

I’m a big believer in the power of ritual and have a deep love of all the extra-ordinary lives and loves on this crazy, beautiful, blue dot floating in space. My background is in theatre and I deeply value the space to connect with you and yours, delight in sharing your stories with gathered loved ones and honouring life’s unions and relationships. I’m a - not so secret - outrage of a romantic and a humanist hippy at heart!

Looking forward to saying hello and celebrating your love.

The wonderful Judith conducted my friend’s wedding and she was the most fabulous celebrant I have ever seen! I have organised many weddings at River Cottage down in Devon and never before have I seen a singing celebrant. She has a delicious voice and produced their ceremony with such warmth; it was just perfect.
