MY CONSULTATION AND BOOKING PROCESS

The ritual of marriage is one of the most special moments you will experience in your life, and it is a joy for me to play a role in these sacred ceremonies.

Ahead of any wedding I deliver, I like to ensure that I spend quality time in advance with the couple-to-be so that you can be sure that my celebrant services are the right fit for your special day, and that I can ensure I have all the information and detail I need to write a reading which captures your energies and celebrates your partnership authentically.

If you are interested in booking my services for your upcoming wedding, I have a three-step booking process:

STEP ONE: Book your wedding consultation

First of all, let’s put a face to a name.

We’ll meet for a short, informal consultation where we can discuss your plans so far. I’ll tell you more about my services in detail, and you can ask any initial questions about how a wedding with a humanist celebrant typically works. These consultations usually last around 20 minutes and I host these online, on Google Meets.

STEP TWO: SAVE THE DATE

After your consultation, I will send you a link to a second booking form to Save the Date. If you would like to proceed, you can complete this form and lock in my availability for your wedding.

To finalise your booking, you will be asked to pay a non-refundable deposit of £120. This will secure the date of your wedding in my calendar, and will be deducted from the final total for my services at your event. You can’t save the date until I have met you for an initial consultation, so book your free appointment with me as soon as you can!

STEP THREE: PLAN YOUR CEREMONY WITH ME

Once you have paid your deposit, you will receive two things from me:

A final booking link to schedule a 90 minute Ceremony Planning Meeting with me
Along with access to a collection of poems, actions and gestures I can perform, to help inspire your planning

This Ceremony Planning Meeting is very important. It allows me to spend quality time with you both, to ask deeper questions and learn more about your relationship, which will help me pen the reading for your ceremony. This meeting can take place online, or can happen in person if you are available to meet me in Central Glasgow, Scotland.

I typically recommend that this meeting takes place between 3-6 months before your wedding date. This gives us time to ensure the reading is perfect in good time for the day. When you book this meeting, I ask you to pay the remaining balance for your wedding, which is £330. To ensure that I can quickly proceed with writing the reading for your ceremony after our time together. At this meeting, we’ll also discuss any applicable mileage for travel to your wedding venue, if it is more than 20 miles outside Central Glasgow (G3), which I charge at 50p per mile, each way.

Once I have written your script, I’ll send it to you for any notes or edits you’d like me to make (in case you decide that naughty anecdote is not quite right for Auntie Jean!). After we’ve agreed on the script for your reading, it’s just a matter of time before I join you to celebrate your marriage at your ceremony…
